Dear Colleagues, Hello!
The Israeli National Organization CIGRE was established in 1997 and operates as a non-profit branch of CIGRE, which is an international organization existing since 1921 and headquartered in Paris.
The international organization encompasses over 90 countries and 1,250 organizations, factories, and institutions. The unique characteristic of the organization, as determined by its founders, is that it embraces higher education institutions, electric companies, industrial plants, renewable energy producers, and manufacturers of electrical equipment for high and ultra-high voltage energy systems, high voltage. Israel's participation in CIGRE's work helps in receiving up-to-date information in the technical field related to electrical equipment and systems at all voltage levels, contributing to the establishment of industries operating according to advanced technologies.
Members of the national organization have a real opportunity for meetings with colleagues from around the world, leading to the establishment of joint ventures in both professional and commercial fields. Professional activities are concentrated in 16 Study Committees (SC) and approximately 250 Working Groups (WG), according to the subjects dealt with by the study committees.
You are invited to visit the organization's website: www.cigre.org. The Israeli website en.cigre.org.il is currently undergoing significant changes. Anyone who sees themselves as suitable and interested in professional activity in one of the committees published on the CIGRE website should register with the Israeli National Organization by writing to the address listed below, attaching a CV indicating publications, reports, knowledge of English/French languages, and their professional experience relevant to the field in which they wish to be active.
The Israeli organization includes representatives from academia, government and regulation, the electricity system administrator "Noga," Israel Electric Corporation, private electricity production companies, industry, and students.
In recent years, we have continued to work for our colleagues and despite the global situation, we carried out several activities and our members continued to operate – each in their field – in the prestigious working groups and committees they are members of. We hope conditions will allow physical presence at events in coming years.
Meanwhile, we continue to support the CIRED association which complements the areas related to high voltage, low voltage, electricity supply, and distribution market issues, smart grid, renewable energies, etc. Membership in the organization and membership in study committees/working groups require payment of membership fees to the Israeli National Organization, as detailed in the registration page that will be sent to you.
Best regards,
Alex Levinzon, Chairman of the National Organization CIGRE
